POP SUNDAY x Sesame Street Lucky Money Tree Plush Blind Box: Magnetic Interactive Review

The world of collectible plush toys is constantly evolving, and the latest collaboration between POP SUNDAY and Sesame Street brings a unique twist to your shelf. The Lucky Money Tree Plush Blind Box is not just another cute addition – it features an innovative magnetic interactive design that sets it apart from traditional plush. In this review, we'll dive deep into what makes this blind box special, from its design and build quality to its interactive features and overall value for collectors.

As a fan of both Sesame Street and quirky collectibles, I was eager to get my hands on this release. The concept of a money tree plush, combined with the beloved characters, promises a delightful experience. But does it live up to the hype? Let's find out.

Unboxing the Lucky Money Tree Plush Blind Box

The unboxing experience is a crucial part of any blind box product, and POP SUNDAY does not disappoint. The box itself features vibrant artwork showcasing the Sesame Street characters in a festive setting, hinting at the surprises inside. Upon opening, you're greeted with the plush, a small booklet, and a magnetic accessory – typically a coin or a leaf-shaped piece that attaches to the plush.

The plush measures around 20 cm in height, making it a perfect size for display on a desk or shelf. The fabric is soft and durable, with careful stitching that ensures longevity. The character designs are faithful to the original Sesame Street aesthetics, with each variant featuring a different character or pose. The magnetic element is cleverly integrated – for instance, the coin attaches to the plush's hand, allowing you to pose it as if it's holding a lucky coin.

• Check the packaging for a hidden code or symbol that might indicate the rarity of your variant – some collectors share these clues online.

Design and Build Quality

The design of the Lucky Money Tree Plush is a delightful blend of traditional plush comfort and modern interactive elements. The money tree motif is represented through a small, embroidered tree on the plush's belly, complete with tiny leaves and a golden coin. The colors are bright and cheerful, staying true to the Sesame Street brand while adding a unique twist.

Build quality is impressive. The plush is well-stuffed, holding its shape without being too firm. The magnetic components are securely embedded, and the attachment points are reinforced to prevent tearing. Even after repeated play, the magnets remain strong and the fabric shows no signs of wear. This is a product that can withstand the enthusiasm of both kids and adult collectors.

• If you're a serious collector, consider keeping the packaging and booklet – they often contain unique artwork and release information.

Interactive Magnetic Features: A Closer Look

The standout feature of this blind box is its interactive magnetic system. Each plush comes with a magnetic accessory – typically a coin, a star, or a leaf – that can be attached to various parts of the plush. This allows for creative posing and play. For example, you can attach the coin to the plush's hand, making it look like it's holding a lucky charm, or place it on the tree emblem to complete the money tree theme.

The magnets are strong enough to hold the accessory in place during gentle play but easy to remove for swapping. This adds a layer of customization that encourages collectors to mix and match accessories from different variants. It's a thoughtful design that elevates the product from a simple plush to an interactive collectible.

Variants and Collectibility

As with most blind boxes, the Lucky Money Tree series includes several variants, each featuring a different Sesame Street character or a special pose. The standard set includes characters like Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Big Bird, each with their own unique magnetic accessory. There are also rare and ultra-rare variants that feature gold-plated accessories or exclusive character designs, adding to the thrill of the hunt.

The packaging does not indicate which variant you'll get, so each purchase is a surprise. This element of chance is a big draw for collectors, and the community has already started trading and discussing the various finds. The rarity system is well-balanced – not too easy to complete the set, but not impossibly difficult either, making it accessible for both new and seasoned collectors.

Comparison with Other Plush Blind Boxes

The market for plush blind boxes is crowded, with series like the Incredible Keyki Series Plush Pendant Blind Box and the BEARISBUG Abstract Life Plush Pendant Series Blind Box offering their own unique appeal. However, the POP SUNDAY x Sesame Street Lucky Money Tree stands out due to its interactive magnetic feature. While other plush blind boxes focus primarily on aesthetics, this one adds a functional element that enhances play value.

In terms of size and price, the Lucky Money Tree Plush is comparable to other mid-tier blind boxes, offering good value for the quality. The magnetic feature is a differentiator that justifies the price point, especially for collectors who value interactive elements. If you're looking for a plush that's both cute and engaging, this is a strong contender.

Where to Buy and Pricing

The POP SUNDAY x Sesame Street Lucky Money Tree Plush Blind Box is available at select retailers and online stores. Prices typically range from $15 to $25, depending on the retailer and availability. Given the quality and the interactive feature, this is a reasonable price point for collectors.

For those interested in expanding their collection, consider also checking out other plush blind boxes like the Incredible Keyki Series Plush Pendant Blind Box or the BEARISBUG Abstract Life Plush Pendant Series Blind Box, which offer different styles and themes. However, if you're specifically drawn to the Sesame Street charm and magnetic interactivity, the Lucky Money Tree is a must-have.

In conclusion, the POP SUNDAY x Sesame Street Lucky Money Tree Plush Blind Box is a delightful addition to any collector's shelf. Its innovative magnetic feature, high-quality build, and charming design make it a standout in the world of plush blind boxes. Whether you're a Sesame Street fan or a collector of interactive plush, this is a purchase you won't regret.
